Nothing to blog about today.  Sorry.  I think World War III may have started over there in the Middle East.  Other than that, not much.

I did get together with the Robot Boy and some jams were kicked out.  Mostly by the Robot Boy, but there was some directed noise produced by yours truly, as well.  A memorable moment went as follows:

Robot Boy: [playing some random song (probably something by REM)]
Me: Play Helter Skelter!
Robot Boy: [plays Helter Skelter]

Well color me impressed.  That Robot Boy can play.

Apocalypse Watch: Update 6

Well, we got past 6-6-06.  Looks like we may have to wait for June 6, 2106.  We need to thank those pregnant women that had labor induced in the days right before the 6th.  They may have helped to delay the coming of the Anti-Christ. 

Another possibility: the book of Revelations makes mention of 144,000 people being in Heaven.  Maybe 144,000 people were raptured and we haven't noticed yet.  Has anybody been to Lakewood, Colorado since yesterday?  They're right about 144,000 in size...

I was checking out Spookybarn's post today.  If anyone tells you that this song is anything other than a dark omen... well, you have to wonder what master they're serving if you catch my drift.  The fourth sign... revealed...  The thing with the seal.  Yadda yadda yadda. 

Apocalypse Watch: Update 3

It didn't dawn on me until just now, hours later, that I've already seen the third sign of the Apocalypse.  I had a meeting with my insurance comapny earlier today.  So what, you might think.  Well, these were the people that once quoted me an insurance rate of $666.  What did we talk about today?  Well, a number of things.  One thing that came up: they wanted to put my Social Security number on file.  Need I say more?  The third sign has been revealed.  The third seal is opened.

Apocalypse Watch: Update 2

Number of signs of the Apocalypse revealed so far: 1.

Number of signs of the Apocalypse yet to be revealed: 6.

I had been home eating lunch.  As I was leaving, I noticed a package from UPS sitting on my front porch.  It was from Amazon.com.  How had I not noticed that before?  I always notice packages sitting on my front step.  Most... strange.  I leave my car running and trot over to retrieve the package.  Back in the car, I look at the package and staring up at me from the cardboard, I see this scrawled in marker:  660.

660.

How could you possibly get any more obvious?  Of course the 6th to last sign of the Apocalypse would come baring the number 660.  Add it up.  660 + 6 = 666.  I don't think this is any coincidence.  The second sign has been revealed.  The second seal is opened.

Apocalypse Watch: Update 1

Something strange happened as I was driving to lunch.  I'm not sure I understand it. 

I was stopped behind several cars at a traffic light, waiting to turn left onto 90th Street.  The light turned green, and the line of cars started moving through the intersection.  I wasn't paying close attention, but what I think happened is that a car moving down 90th ran a red light.  I heard a screeching of brakes and there were two cars stopped in the intersection.  The red light-runner moved through the intersection and then just kinda stopped there in the street for several moments, blocking traffic.  Had he hit someone?  (I don't think so.)  Was he just confused, trying to figure out what had just happened?  (Maybe.)

Anyway, he blocked traffic long enough that I and several cars in front of me didn't get through the intersection.  We wait for the lights to cycle again.  We get a green light and when I get up to the intersection, I see that there's a car that's just stopped, right in the center of the intersection.  Is the driver confused, waiting to turn left and hasn't realized that the lights have changed?  Wait -- there is no driver.  As my lane of cars slowly drives past, a man runs up from the sidewalk and hops in the car. 

I'm not 100% clear on what exactly happened.  However, as this is June 6, 2006, I feel confident in labeling this as the first sign of the Apocalypse.  The first sign has been revealed.  The first seal is opened.
