So, Script Frenzy continues. I find that, paradoxically, the weekend (which started on Friday for me) has perhaps hurt my productivity rather than helped it. At least at first. I was just getting into the groove of running to Starbucks after work and spending a couple hours hashing out a few pages on my laptop. And now my weekday schedule is interrupted by too much free time.
But I feel like I'm finding the groove again. The important thing is to keep writing. I find it gratifying to log into the Script Frenzy site and bump up my page count -- even if it's just by one page.
I just hit page 18. So I've got 82% of my screenplay yet before me. Including today, there are 19 days left. So I now need to average over 4 pages a day. Did I mention that there really isn't that much writing on a single page of a screenplay?
It's very early Easter Sunday morning as I write this blog post. I need to drive to Lincoln in the morning to visit family. I was just getting to a funny bit in my script... maybe I'll just add a few more lines...
It's nice to see that you're on a mission to get it done. I wish you luck in completing the task. It's also nice that on you brother's blog, he's excited for the competition...oh wait, that was last year. Here's to wishing you both good luck.

It is to my eternal shame that I got both you and Aaron all riled up about this, and then dropped the ball.
BUT!
I intend to spend most of today (Easter) and tomorrow writing, and I intend to pass your incredible 18 pages! I had no idea you had that much in mind to write!
I think it's neat that you found a nice rhythm, and I envy you. Part of my problem has been that it's so late at night by the time I return home from work, I just wanna veg. Good luck, and I will see you at the finish line!

Thanks, Dave. I tried to talk James into giving Script Frenzy another go this year, but it was already a bit into April at the time, and I couldn't convince him.
Sky, I hope your writing goes well. I find there are times I just have to force myself to do it -- it's just one of those things.
I wouldn't say I had that much in mind to write. It's more like, I have a general story arc. I think I have most of the scenes in mind. How exactly we're working through them, and all of the content is evolving as we go. Writing some of the banter (err--I mean "dialogue") and trying to come up with clever character interactions can be fun.

A couple thoughts:
I've been trying to focus on page count. I've been trying to drive myself by thinking about adding enough words so I can go update that Script Frenzy page and bump up my page count.
I could really stand to have a couple above average days in here somewhere. My math says I need to average 4 1/3 pages a day from here on out. I could go for some days where I write, say, 6 pages in one day. I've had some below average days -- I need some stellar days.

After shaming me into actually trying to complete 100 pages by the end if the month, it doesn't look like you're still writing.
Have you just stopped updating your scriptfrenzy page, or are you dropping out?
